Elton Sailing Club is gearing up for one of the most exciting endurance sailing events of the year the West Lancs 24-Hour Race! Taking place from Saturday 13th September to Sunday 14th September 2025, this legendary race will see teams from clubs across the country competing in an intense, non-stop sailing challenge.
What is the 24-Hour Race?
Hosted by West Lancashire Yacht Club, the 24-Hour Race is a true test of skill, endurance, and teamwork. Racing begins at 12:00 noon on Saturday and continues through the night until 12:00 noon on Sunday. Crews rotate throughout the event, ensuring the boat stays on the water at all times, no matter the conditions.

We need a committed team of sailors and shore crew to make this event a success. Whether you want to be at the helm, crewing on board, or supporting from the shore, theres a role for everyone. Any club member can join the team!
- Helms Skipper the boat in racing shifts.
- Crew Support the helm and keep the boat fast.
- Shore Crew Assist with changeovers and logistics
