April / May Updates from Sailing Committee

The sailing season is now well underway, with a great mix of activity taking place across the club. Racing is running on Wednesday evenings and Sundays, with Junior Sailing and Ladies Sailing taking place on Thursday evenings. It has been fantastic to see so many members getting out on the water and making the most of the new season.

Racing Updates - Congratulations to Iggy Smith on winning the Wednesday Spring Pursuit Series, and to Tony Tomlinson for his win in the Early Spring Handicap Series. A brilliant start to the season and well done to everyone who has taken part so far.

Dragon Race Day - A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the Dragon Race Day for Bury Hospice on 9th May such a successful event. Your time and support made a real difference and helped the club put on a fantastic day. 

Club Open Day - Visitors will be very welcome at the Club Open Day on Saturday 16th May, where they will have the opportunity to get a taste of sailing, perhaps for the very first time. Please do encourage friends, family, and anyone interested in sailing to come along and see what the club has to offer.

Forthcoming Events:

Saturday 30th May - An afternoon of sailing for both new and established sailors, with a safety boat on the water. There will also be race practice available for those who would like to build confidence and develop their racing skills.

Sunday 14th June - One-off Club Trophy Day. Further details on the format will be shared nearer the time.

Southport 24 Hour Race - We have decided not to enter the Southport 24 Hour Race this year. However, we are already planning to enter a club Enterprise again next year, which will be a great opportunity for members to get involved.
