Battle of Classes Club Trophy Day is Coming!

The Club Trophy Day Battle of Classes booked in for 22nd June, and were gearing up for an exciting day filled with strategic racing, teamwork, and personal glory. Whether you sail a ILCA (Laser), Solo, or Streaker, this is your chance to race for the Battle of Classes Trophy in a fun and competitive format.
Here's How It Works:
Classes Made Up of Three Boats:
- Each class will consist of three boats per type. For example, we'll have:
- 3 x Laser, 3x Laser Radial, 3x Laser 4.7, 3x Solo, 3x Enterprise, 3x Supernova, 3x Phanton, 3x Topper, 3x Streaker.
- If your class has enough sailors for another entry, it can enter another team. We will also look to group up sailors, under different classes if struggling for numbers (for example Instructor Group, Sailing Com Team)
- These classes will compete against each other in a team format, but don't worry—each boat type will have equal opportunities to shine. The boats within each class will race with a goal to contribute to the class's overall score.
Race Formats:
- RACE 1- Handicap Racing: All boats compete fairly, no matter their class, with a level playing field for every participant.
- RACE 2- Pursuit Race: A race where your timing and teamwork will make all the difference. Do you push for your personal best or support your teams overall position?
- RACE 3- Split Fleets: Each class will have one representative in each separate fleet. This means each boat type will compete in its own fleet, with a unique set of challenges. This adds a true test of strategy, as each member of your team will need to perform well in their own fleet to bring the overall victory to your class.
Prizes
- Individual Champion: The top sailors with the best personal performance across all races. 2 best results from the 3 races count.
- Battle of Classes Champion: The class that accumulates the best-combined score from all races will win the Battle of Classes Trophy and claim bragging rights until next year!
How to Get Involved:
Get your teams together and save the date….it will be a fantastic event! This is a completely new format and should be a great day at the club.
This event is all about fun, competitive sailing, and coming together as a club to enjoy the spirit of racing. We cant wait to see which class will rise to the top and claim the Battle of Classes Trophy!
