Now that you've learned the basics, it's time to fine-tune your sailing skills and take control of your boat with confidence. The RYA Level 3 Better Sailing course builds on your knowledge from RYA Level 2, helping you improve technique, boat handling, and independence on the water.
This course provides more time on the water, helping you become a more competent and self-sufficient sailor. Whether you want to enjoy leisurely family sails, club racing, or holiday cruising, this course will get you there.
Prerequisite: Completion of Level 2 or equivalent experience
Duration: 2 days
Ages: Adults and Youth (16+). Junior sailors follow learn to sail through our Junior Sailing Scheme

- Refined Boat Handling Improve your steering, sail trim, and weight distribution for a smoother sailing experience.
- Sailing in Different Wind Conditions Learn how to adjust your technique for light, moderate, and stronger winds.

- Sailing Without an Instructor Increase your confidence in sailing independently, with minimal input from instructors.
- Introduction to Racing & Tactics A taste of basic race strategy and competitive sailing.
- Man Overboard Recovery & Capsize Drills Practice essential safety techniques for real-world sailing situations.
- Sailing a Set Course Develop the ability to navigate and follow a designated course with precision.
- Introduction to Spinnakers (Optional) Learn the basics of using a spinnaker for downwind sailing.
