By entering and participating in the North West Junior Open Meeting at Elton Sailing Club, competitors and their guardians acknowledge and agree to the following terms:

1. Competitor Responsibility: Sailing is an unpredictable sport, and competitors participate entirely at their own risk. It is the responsibility of each competitor, and where applicable, their parent or guardian, to decide whether to start or continue racing, considering their experience, the weather conditions, and any other relevant factors.
2. Parental/Guardian Responsibility: Competitors under 18 must have a parent or responsible adult present at the event and remain responsible for their welfare throughout. Elton Sailing Club and event officials do not assume responsibility for supervising juniors off the water.
3. Liability: Elton Sailing Club, its officers, members, volunteers, and event officials will not accept any liability for material damage, personal injury, or death sustained in connection with, prior to, during, or after the event. Competitors and their representatives participate entirely at their own risk.
4. Insurance Requirement: All boats taking part in the event must have valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of £3,000,000 (or equivalent). Competitors may be asked to provide evidence of insurance before racing.
5. Compliance with Rules: The event will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing, the event Sailing Instructions, and any relevant class rules. Competitors must comply with all instructions from the Race Committee and safety personnel.
6. Safety Equipment: Each competitor is responsible for ensuring their boat is seaworthy and equipped with the necessary safety gear as required by class rules and club regulations. Personal buoyancy aids must be worn at all times while afloat.
7. Media Rights: By entering, competitors and their guardians grant Elton Sailing Club the right to use images, video, and other media captured during the event for promotional and reporting purposes.

By registering for the event, competitors (and their parent/guardian if under 18) confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this disclaimer.
